When you think of “open wheel” auto racing in the United States, it’s likely that you would think of the Indianapolis 500. However, throughout Europe and the rest of the world, the most recognizable name in “open wheel” racing is the Grand Prix.
Later this week, I will have a chance to experience the excitement for myself, as I will join a number of Avanade customers to cheer on the Lotus F1 Team in Austin, Texas. The visit to the Lone Star State will be the first since Avanade became the official Business Consulting Partner of the Lotus F1 Team in May 2012. I’m excited to see the Lotus F1 Team in action and our Avanade branding around the cockpit in person.
Earlier in November, one of the Lotus F1 Team’s drivers, Kimi Räikkönen, won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. As Kimi danced on top of the car, it was cool to see the Avanade logo clearly in sight in all the pictures and videos displayed to fans around the world.
Even more exciting than witnessing an appearance in the winner’s circle – at least for us at Avanade – is the three-year partnership we have forged with the Lotus F1 Team. Using technology to help customers realize results is nothing new to Avanade. We’ve been doing that for our customers since 2000. However, finding new ways – and new industries – to leverage the Microsoft Dynamics technology products portfolio is yet another way that Avanade is helping our customers ‘race to the finish line.’
